Goals of the Assessment
aims & outcomes
In 2020, the City of Raleigh’s Office of Special Events established a Hospitality and Nightlife team, taking on the responsibilities of being a liaison to the City’s growing hospitality and nightlife scene. The team’s goal is to balance the needs of community stakeholders to improve safety and promote culture, while reducing impacts to quality of life. Throughout the pandemic and into present day, the need to safely socialize is key for Raleigh residents and visitors. The City has contracted with the Responsible Hospitality Institute to take the next step in improving the social economy through the Sociable City Assessment.
