Build a foundation

We will orient your Project Leader and Project Coordinator to the process and review our systems for project management. Preliminary information will be gathered and data collection will begin.

Your Transformation Team (project steering group) will be selected and interviewed to provide background on your city's social economy.

We will dive deep into your city by engaging a broad swath of your community's stakeholders in Listening Sessions on their vision and priorities for the social economy. Listening Sessions will be held on three topics: Assuring Safety, Enhancing Vibrancy and Planning for People’s needs. A broad base of stakeholders from your city will be invited to share their insights in these interactive sessions. Information gathered will be used to evaluate the strengths, challenges and opportunities in your city’s social economy. 

Planning

Sociable cities anticipate mobility needs and create systems to maintain a high quality of life.

Safety

Safety in social districts and within venues requires coordination among public and private partners

Vibrancy

Vibrancy is created by the mix of social experiences in venues and in public spaces both day and night.

The third phase builds upon the priorities established through Listening Sessions to develop an action plan.

Six Roundtables will be held to facilitate consensus on a course of action in RHI’s Six Core Measures of a Sociable City: Mobility, Quality of Life, Public Safety, Venue Safety, Public Space and Social Venues. A summary report will be developed and vetted by project leaders.

The fourth and final phase will be a presentation of the comprehensive summary and action plan, which will have been vetted and reviewed by your project leaders. Findings will be presented to key decision-makers (e.g. City Council) for citywide buy-in and support. The final report will serve as a blueprint to implement the action plan. The final on-site meeting will review the strategy for implementation, including timeline and resources required.
